The badger is an omnivore
To protect the aviary effectively, a Rutland Electric Fencing system is installed around it, positioned 15 to 20 cm in front of the aviary netting. This setup prevents predators from lingering between the aviary and the electric fence.
For installation, Rutland plastic fence posts with a total height of 70 cm (including an 18 cm ground spike) are placed at intervals of 7 to 8 meters. At each corner, aligned with the aviary’s layout, a sturdy wooden post is driven into the ground, with insulators securely fastened to it. Two white-blue Rutland TopLine Plus electric fence tapes are mounted at 10 cm and 20 cm above the ground to ensure effective deterrence.
Similarly, to prevent badgers from damaging crops, a Rutland Electric Fencing system can be installed in agricultural areas. The setup follows the same principle: Rutland plastic fence posts (70 cm total height) are spaced 7 to 8 meters apart, while wooden corner posts with insulators provide stability for the fence tape tensioning. Again, two white-blue Rutland TopLine Plus electric fence tapes are positioned at 10 cm and 20 cm above the ground. However, the risk of badgers burrowing underneath the fence remains.
